TOWN HALL UPDATE - 8/25

The Town Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month with workshops on the 4th Thursday.  Highlights from the July Town Board meeting include:

• A discussion on the New York State’s 2% tax cap requirement and how that may apply to the town’s 2026 budget preparation given the increased expense of ambulance service.  A public hearing will be set to hear comments on this matter.

• A continued discussion on the status of town finances.  It was noted that financial records have been reconciled for 2022 and 2023.

• Poestenkill Fire Chief Daniel McIntyre reported on good response times with Sand Lake Ambulance, reminded all to slow down in construction zones, and noted that the fire company is looking for new members.
