Meet Greg Pattenaude

Running for Poestenkill Town Council

Greg Pattenaude has lived in Poestenkill for 34 years with his spouse, Susan. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Union College and spent over three decades at the New York State Department of Public Service. He began as a Junior Engineer and retired as Chief of Carrier Operations in the Office of Telecommunications.

Greg has helped shape Poestenkill’s future through his work on two Comprehensive Plans and currently chairs the town’s Conservation Advisory Council. He was also a founding member of Concerned Citizens for Clean Drinking Water, the grassroots group formed after PFOA was found at Algonquin Middle School. Their efforts led to the creation of Water District #2.

As a parent, Greg coached soccer for 11 seasons with Averill Park Youth Soccer, was a coach for Odyssey of the Mind, and led Classie Lassies Girls Softball League—serving as president for three years. For the past 20 years, he has served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Henry’s Church.

Since retiring from public service, Greg has picked up piano, gardening, and a second career as a background actor. His credits include Succession, White House Plumbers, Smile 2, and all three seasons of The Gilded Age.

He is the proud father of two adult children, both educated in the Averill Park Central School District, and a very happy Grandpa to baby Emma.
