Meet Tom Russell
Poestenkill Town Supervisor, Incumbent
I’m proud to serve as your Town Supervisor and remain accessible to residents across all parts of Poestenkill. I regularly seek your input, suggestions, and feedback—and I make it a priority to listen.
As Supervisor, I’ve focused on:
-
Maintaining civility at Town Board meetings and fostering constructive, respectful collaboration among board members
-
Working with the Town Board to establish a dedicated Ambulance in partnership with Sand Lake Ambulance, launching July 1, 2025—with mutual aid coverage included
-
Advancing Water District #2 with support from the Town Board and LaBerge Engineering
-
Supporting and promoting the Comprehensive Plan revision and working toward its completion
-
Reducing municipal electricity costs at Town Hall, for street lighting, and at the Town's Water Pump House
-
Resolving the 2021 third- and fourth-quarter IRS payroll tax submission issue
-
Working with the Town Board to allocate and distribute ARPA funds to meet town needs
-
Attending Planning, Zoning, Fire Company, Library, and Historical Society meetings to stay informed and involved
-
Promoting cooperation with neighboring Town Supervisors and Rensselaer County officials
I’ve done my best to govern responsibly, with a steady focus on serving the residents of Poestenkill and working closely with all town departments to deliver real results.
Thank you for the opportunity to continue that work.
